What is Wellness?
“The Global Wellness Institute defines wellness as the active pursuit of activities, choices and lifestyles that lead to a state of holistic health.” The main word that defines Wellness is the “active pursuit” or as we like to call it the state of Continued Wellness. Linked strongly with our behaviors & habits, Wellness focuses on how we can better our health & quality of life through positive changes to our physical, mental, emotional, social & environmental health. Wellness is also described as “the act of practicing healthy habits on a daily basis to attain better physical and mental health outcomes, so that instead of just surviving, you’re thriving.” How we choose to live out our lifestyles today will greatly effect our overall health in the future.
Why is prioritizing your Wellness Important?
“Wellness matters because everything we do and every emotion we feel relates to our well-being. In turn, our well-being directly affects our actions and emotions. It’s an ongoing circle. Therefore, it is important for everyone to achieve optimal wellness in order to subdue stress, reduce the risk of illness and ensure positive interactions.” As human beings we don’t want to simply survive in life, we want to be able to thrive and live our lives to the absolute fullest. Prioritizing your health and changing unhealthy habits can lead you to experiencing life with a new found energy & sight.
